Benefits and Features in Alliance with AuthorHouse™
A unique partnership in the vanguard of publishing’s future.
Traditional book publishing is undergoing a transformation with electronic publishing and the current global economic conditions. It is more difficult than ever for authors to get their works published. Yet, publishing remains a highly desirable way to advance a professional career for the academic professional as well as for the clinical professional. ISPA is strident in helping professionals build their careers; therefore, this alliance with AuthorHouse Publishing makes publishing accessible, streamlined, and efficient. Authors share with ISPA in the initial risk of publishing accepted works and can choose from a variety of sales and marketing programs to promote their works. Authors retain copyright to their work. Author royalties will vary based on the price and marketability of each book/manual/monograph but are higher than traditional (old school) publishing houses that often range from 3-10%. ISPA Now more than Ever
Friday, July 2nd, 2010In these turbulent economic times it is important to make sure you are doing everything you can to standout from the other professionals working in your field. Many organizations are facing tough decisions and are being forced to layoff their employees. Individuals with the least credentials will come under the most scrutiny when it comes time for a company to decide whom to layoff. By being credentialed by The International Sports Professionals Association you are reinforcing how serious you are about your career. An ISPA credential helps protect your passion!
Individuals seeking help from sports professionals are going to have less money available for services and as such will be skeptical when seeking out professional help. Having an ISPA credential will help bolster the public’s confidence in your services and assure them that they made the right decision in spending their hard earned money. An ISPA credential turns skepticism into confidence.

Conference Highlight
Wednesday, June 9th, 2010One of the highlights of the Sports and Society conference was to hear two of our ISPA superstars speak, Dr. Chris Stout and Kurt David. With these two speakers along with Justin Mayer, Executive Director of ISPA, Andrew Teunis, Director of Development of ISPA and myself, Dr. John Mayer, President of ISPA, the International Sports Professionals Association had a very strong showing of professionals speaking at this inaugural conference.
More and more ISPA is taking Paul Tagliabue’s call for sports leadership and standing out in the forefront of sports. We have several exciting programs we are going to roll out in the coming months.

Paul Tagliabue-Conference Address
Tuesday, June 8th, 2010Paul Tagliabue, the former commissioner of the NFL, gave the opening keynote address to the Sports and Society conference ISPA administration attended recently. The thrust of his message was a call for LEADERSHIP in sports and in the sports industry. He stated, “The need for leadership in sports will not diminish in the years to come.” He called for more discussion and analysis of leadership and opportunities for leadership.
Paul Tagliabue’s message was exciting for us to hear because ISPA is all about helping sports professionals take leadership in their field. His message was a strong support for the mission of The International Sports Professionals Association.

Kurt A. David Receives Diplomate Credential
Friday, June 4th, 2010While we were at the Sports and Society Conference in De Pere, Wisconsin we met up with fellow ISPA Credentialed Professional Kurt A. David. When the ISPA told Kurt about this prestigious conference, he immediately decided to present at the conference.
The ISPA felt it would be a great time to honor Kurt’s many achievements in sports counseling by recognizing him as a Diplomate within the ISPA. Diplomate is the highest status one can reach in their field. Diplomate status is only given to a few select individuals whom have reached the pinnacle in their field. Furthermore, to be considered for Diplomate status you must exhibit great passion for sports. After spending time with Kurt it is very clear that he is not only an accomplished professional but also a passionate individual. We are honored to have Kurt A. David as an ISPA Diplomate.
